During this Deepa-Raya one-week-long holiday, I went to Penang with my parents...
Coincidentally, Mandy and Wendy also went to Penang, but I didn't see them there...
We took a KKKL bus to Penang on Sunday night, depart from BP at 10pm and reached Penang at 8am the next day...
The bus is quite comfortable, but I just cannot "adapt" myself in the bus, as a result I didn't sleep the whole night...
My brother is working there in Bayan Lepas, so he played a role as our tour guide during our visit there...
In Penang, we stayed in the Hotel Seri Malaysia, it was a 2-star-rated hotel, so I didn't expect them to provide very good service to us...
Anyway, their food is not bad... :D
On Monday, after eating breakfast at a famous dim-sum restaurant, we went to Sam Poh (Cheng Ho) Footprint Temple, Batu Maung...
There is a giant footprint (about 85cm long) in the temple, said to be belonged to our Laksamana Cheng Ho...
Here's a picture taken outside the temple:

After lunch (I am too full to eat, my parents and brother and his girlfriend ate), we went to Dhammikarama Burmese Buddhist Temple...
There are small Buddha statues for each of every Chinese zodiac sign...
Here's a picture of me, taken in front of Buddha statue of my zodiac sign, dragon:

The following globe is found inside the Burmese temple too...
Upon seeing this globe, the first thing I did was pointing at Malaysia and ask my brother to take a photo for me...
It was the next day only I saw a tour guide book states that : point at your dream country, and you'll be going there successfully in the near future
I actually pointed at Malaysia!! :"(

Situated in front of the Burmese temple is the Reclining (Sleeping) Buddha temple or the Wat Chayamangkalaram...
The statue of Reclining Buddha is so big that we cannot even fit it into our camera screen...
Below is a picture took in front of the Reclining Buddha statue:

From left : My brother's girlfriend, my brother, me, my mum...
Behind my mum was my dad
After that, we went to a hawker centre to have our tea-time...
I was still too full to eat, so just ordered a watermelon juice and watched others ate...
Then we went back to our hotel to take a short nap, bathing etc...
I didn't sleep, was watching <Huan Zhu Ge Ge 3> at 8TV...
At night, we went to Double Good Restaurant to have our dinner...
Their food is quite nice, and despite it was a double storey restaurant, it was still full...
Many people are willingly to waiting outside the restaurant for a long time to have their dinner there...
We are quite lucky that we only have to wait for about 2 or 3 minutes before the waiter come and told us that there are seats for us...
After taking our dinner, we went to Gurney Plaza...
It's a shopping haven, I think it was about 3 times larger than The Summit Batu Pahat...
While shopping, I suddenly felt very itchy on my face...
Probably it was because I used the restaurant's tissue (that wet, fragrance one) to wipe my mouth after dinner...
Then we went to Guardian Pharmacy inside the shopping complex to buy medicinal oil and apply it on my face...
It was late then, so we decided to went back to the hotel...
On the next day, we had our breakfast at about 8.30am...
After eating, we went back to our room to watch TV
There's no interesting TV programme!
No choice, usual days we have not much non-Malay movies on our RTM already, not to mention it's Hari Raya...
There is no Mediacorp TV programmes at Penang!
Then I switch to NTV 7 to watch The Breakfast Show...
It's a programme regarding current issues, in which the hosts took The Star and the New Straits Times, read the contents and give their own comments about the newspaper reports...
It was so funny! The hosts speak in very broken English...
Later on, once they think they cannot construct a sentence, the English show will suddenly become a Malay Language Show...
The show ended at 10am, then I pack my things before taking a shower...
Then we checked out of the hotel at about 11.30am...
We then set off to the well-known Kek Lok Si temple...
We got to walk quite a distance uphill before reaching the temple...
At the time we reached there, our shirts have all gone wet already...
It was not because we sweat so much when walking uphill, but it was because there're too many people there, all crowded a small lane towards the temple!
Here are some picture taken in the temple:

Some of these pictures are taken when we are about to leave the temple...
The sunlight was too bright at the time we went there (at about 1pm), and in fact my eyes are a little bit sensitive to the light, so I didn't take much photo at first place...
My eyes are really pain and my tears flow out whenever I was taking photo...
We took an incline lift to see the large bronze Kuan Yin statue...
It was 30.2 meter height, and was said to be one of the tallest Kuan Yin statues in the world...
In the picture below, the statue seems not very high...
Well, it was because of the angle in which the picture was taken, and I was actually standing at least 10 or 20 meter away from the statue!

Near the Buddha statue, there are statues of each of every zodiac sign too...
I took a picture with dragon statue (my zodiac sign):

We left the temple at about 4pm and ate at a restaurant located below the temple...
After that, we went to Batu Ferringhi Beach...
The beach has got nothing special...
It was, if not mistaken, the dirty and polluted Strait of Malacca which I've seen almost every week (I wonder why Yon Hui and Cheng Hong love Minyak Beku so much that they always ask all of us "la teh" at Minyak Beku...luckily they left BP already)
I personally love Teluk Sari more...
Teluk Sari is the place where I had undergone my National Service training...
Behind my our dorms is the not-so-polluted South China Sea and we had our activities there quite often...
There are really much people along the beach...
I think there are hundreds or even thousands of people in the very long beach!
There is a large "ferry" located next to the beach...
The ferry is actually a western restaurant...
There is a small cannon in front of the ship, here's a picture:

We then went back to my brother's place...
After taking a bath, playing his computer etc, we went to eat our dinner near the bus station...
we then went to the bus station at about 9pm (because we've got no other interesting place to go anymore), and waited for 45 minutes before the bus arrived...
Our bus depart at 10pm and again, i stayed awake the whole night~
We reached BP at 7.30am the next day~
