my experience in National Service

Before I upload NS photos here next week, I'd like to share an article with all of you. This article will be posted in my former school magazine (Gema Bakti)

***************************************************************

The National Service Programme (Program Latihan Khidmat Negara - PLKN) has been organised by the Ministry of Defence Malaysia since January 2004. Apart from improving our physical and mental endurance, the main reason for the government to carry out this programme is to enhance unity among the multi-racial communities in the country and to mould young people into patriotic citizens. There are about 80 National Service camps all over the country. During the programme, all trainers are known as "Cikgu" whereas male trainees are known as "Wira" and female trainees are known as "Wirawati".

The year 2006 is a special and exciting one for me. I had been chosen to participate in the National Service Programme at Kem Rekreasi Pertanian Teluk Sari, Mersing in March 2006. Honestly, it was really a hard time for me to adapt myself there at first. I had to cope with homesickness, had to follow daily routines, and had to do a lot of chores alone, without getting any help from anyone. However, when I started to mingle with friends from different races, religions and educational backgrounds, I started to familiarize myself with the situation there. I think I was very lucky to be chosen to undergo my training at Kem Rekreasi Pertanian Teluk Sari as I was told that it is a four-star-rated camp. The camp compound is very large (in comparison with other NS camps), the food is not bad, the panorama is beautiful, and all trainers there are very friendly and helpful.

During the National Service Programme, we have been divided into four teams: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. Each team consists of approximately 130 trainees. I was placed in the Delta team.

Generally, the National Service Programme is split into four modules : Physical module (Fizikal), Character Building module (Pembinaan Karakter), Nation Building module (Kenegaraan) and Community Service module (Khidmat Komuniti). In the physical module, we have to undergo a lot of activities, such as Obstacle Courses (Kembara Halangan), Jungle Trekking (Kraf Hutan), Drills (Kawat Kaki), Navigation (Navigasi), Hand to Hand Combat (Tempur Tanpa Senjata), First Aid (Pertolongan Cemas), High Rope (Tali Tinggi), Low Rope (Tali Rendah), Water Sports (Aktiviti Air), Creative Sports (Sukan Kreativiti) and many other activities every weekday. Teamwork is needed to complete these physical activities. I personally like the Obstacle Courses and High Rope the most. To complete the Obstacle Courses, we have to cooperate with one another to pass nine obstacles (including Tarzan Swing, Monkey Rack and 12-feet-wall). On the other hand, in the High Rope, we have been given an opportunity to play the Flying Fox, Abseiling and Repelling. Apart from that, Water Sports such as kayak and rakit are sometimes quite enjoyable too.

The Character Building module and Nation Building module are classroom based. We have to enter the class every weekday from 9.00am until 12.30pm. Character Building module comprises two sub-modules. The first sub-module is Bringing Out The Best In Me while the second sub-module is Bringing Out The Best In Others. Both these sub-modules are meant to shape leadership qualities among trainees. From the Character Building module, I learnt to make decisions accurately, trust my friends, set my targets in life, and be more creative in my works.

When the Character Building module had ended, the Nation Building module was started. There were a lot of activities and group discussions in this module. From there, we had been exposed to the importance of unity among people of different races and religions. There are four elements in the module: Land (Tanah Air), Citizens (Rakyat), Government (Kerajaan) and Sovereign (Daulat). From these elements, we had been taught about the government and political system of our country and our responsibilities to the nation.

In the Community Service module, we had been divided into 26 groups. Every group would go to different places every Wednesday and Saturday to serve the society. Apart from doing voluntary work at villages nearby, I got the chance to visit several governmental and non-governmental departments which I may not have an opportunity to visit them again in the future, such as Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Desa Bina Diri, Pusat Pemuliharaan Burung Kuang, Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia (LKIM), and Jabatan PERHILITAN. Other than that, under this module, those who volunteered to donate their blood were given a chance to do so in a blood donation campaign organised by the Pejabat Kesihatan Mersing.

I was told that there would be a lot of competitions among teams and a jungle trekking and camping trip (Wirajaya) at the end of the National Service Programme. It was a pity that I had missed the chance to join them as I had to leave the camp one month earlier to further my studies in Form Six. However, I may say that these two months experience was a very fantastic one for me. So, to all my juniors in SMKJKA, if you were chosen for the National Service Programme, don't be afraid, it will certainly be an enjoyable experience for you!

how to disable Windows XP "Windows Genuine Advantage"

how 2 disable WGA

Find these things annoying? Try the following steps:

1. Open My Computer, go to C:WINDOWSsystem32

2. Rename "WgaLogon.dll" to "WgaLogon.dll.bak"

3. Open Notepad, save blank page as WgaLogon.dll (click File --> Save As --> change 'Save as type' from "text documents" to "all files" --> save the blank page as WgaLogon.dll in system32)

4. In system32, select WgaTray.exe and right-click, then click Delete

5. Do not click "Yes" when the confirmation box appear

6. Now, press Ctrl + Alt + Del

7. Click "Processes"

8. Select WgaTray.exe and click "End Process"

9. Open system32 and click "Yes" on the delete confirmation box as quick as possible

After you delete it, that annoying thing should have gone already after you restart your PC

*If fail to delete it, repeat step 4 to 9

After that, don't forget to turn off Automatic Updates

Right-click My Computer, click Properties, select Automatic Updates and then turn it off...

Special thanks to xianhui and ronan!

High School VS SDBL

*I haven't finish uploading those pictures I've taken during my NS Programme.
I think I would need one or two weeks more to finish it...
Please be patient~~~!

---------------------------------------------------

As you may know, I am now studying Form 6 in High School Batu Pahat.
I had applied for a change of school to SMK Dato' Bentara Luar last week and it was approved by the Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah Batu Pahat today.
I'll be going to study in SDBL starting from tomorrow onwards...

Top reasons why I don't like High School Batu Pahat:

1.  High School teachers are not as good as SMK Dato' Bentara Luar teachers.
2.  High School teachers and students are arrogant.
3.  As I am a newcomer, it will be difficult for me to hold high posts in their Lembaga Pengawas even if I perform better than other prefects. It's an insult for me if my superiors are not good.
4.  High School students will have to follow some stupid rules like take off their shoes before enter the dirty toilet.
5.  Schoolhour is too long (7.30am - 2.30am) and we have only 3 or 4 lessons (about 2 hours) each day, which means there's too much free periods everyday and students can only wasting their time in school.
6.  High School teachers are irresponsible - enter the class late / don't even enter the class.
7.  Each High School student can only hold one high post in any clubs, society etc. It's so unfair!

Top reasons why I feel sad to leave High School:

1.  The President of the Taekwondo Club has promised to let me hold high post in the club.
2.  I was told that High School's Biology teacher is the best one in Batu Pahat.
3.  Scholarships will always give priority to premier school students. High School is the only premier school in Batu Pahat.
4.  Quite a lot of my good friends are staying in High School.
5.  There'll be more discipline problems in SMK Dato' Bentara Luar in comparison with High School (because High School only accept those good students with excellent results).

I went back to school today to get my SPM results...
Many people praise me for my results, but I am quite disappointed with my results as I failed to achieve my target :"(
Anyway, thanks for Mrs. Chua for her guidance in English Language until I manage to get an A for my 1119...

spm results

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 23 -- The results of the 2005 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examinations will be announced on March 13 and 16 respectively, Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said Thursday.

He said the SPM examination results would be announced by Director-General of Education Datuk Dr Ahamad Sipon at the ministry in Parcel E here at 9 am and the STPM examination results by Universiti Sains Malaysia Vice-Chancellor Datuk Dr Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, in his capacity as chairman of the Malaysian Examinations Council, at the council's office in Kuala Lumpur at 10 am.

After the announcement, the results would be made available in schools, he said, adding that private candidates would receive them via mail.

Hishammuddin said after a post-Cabinet meeting at the ministry that 438,132 students had sat for the SPM examination and 81,142 the STPM examination last year.

He also said that SPM students with excellent results would be accorded honours at a function on March 14.

driving test

I sat for my driving test today...
As I went there quite late, I was the 110th person (altogether 112 person) who sat for the driving test...
I waited for 3 or 4 hours before sat for the first test (parking etc) and waited for another 2 hours before sat for the second test (drive on road)...

I think Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) was wasting our time...
They should have checked their cars earlier, and not at the last minute...
They wasted around 2 hours checking their cars this morning and made those driving instructors really fed up...
JPJ officers kept complaining that their cars (which were borrow from driving schools) were not up to their standards, on the other hand, driving instructors kept complaining that those JPJ officers are very ridiculous...
Some of the instructors went to scold the JPJ officers and was about to fight with them...

When I sat for my first test, I found that there're some problems with the car's clutch
The clutch was very very sensitive and very hard to control...
Luckily I managed to control it after mati enjin for two times, hehe...
Before I sat for the test, I saw how other car learners had failed the test...
That's why I really very worried when my car suddenly mati enjin...
Luckily I am still be able to perform well in the test and get full mark in that test...

For the second test (drive on the road), I get 18 marks (full mark = 20)
It's all because I forgot to check the signal lamps and windscreen wiper before start driving...
I was just adjust the seat and the mirrors, then put on safety belt and start driving
Because of this, I lost 1 mark...
I lost another 1 mark because I did not check whether it's free gear or not before start my engine...
However, IT WAS NOT MY FAULT!!!
The engine had already started BEFORE I entered the car...
That's why I need not to check whether it's free gear or not because I don't need to run the engine...

When I was driving on the road just now, the JPJ officer suddenly asked me to stop my car on the roadside...
When I was about to ask him the reason why he asked me to stop, he told me "Saya laparlah...nak beli pisang goreng sekejap"
Then he went out from the car and made me waited for 5 minutes
Really funny!

I will be getting my P licence next week, yeah!!
